Jason Andersen: Hi there, Jason Anderson, I'm with Six Five On The Road. I'm here at IBM Tech Exchange 2025 in Orlando, Florida. Today we're going to talk a little bit about Project Bob and we've got Kaya Gangesan with us who's going to walk us through the product and give us a little demo. So we're going to talk a little bit about Project Bob which is your AI empowered computer development environment that was just announced this morning. And why don't you walk us through a little bit, kind of ask us some questions along the way.

Kaya Gangesan: All right, so for today, the demo, I'm going to focus on a day to day developer. How they incorporate requirements into actual deployment and then how they incorporate security to an application with vulnerabilities, how do they remediate and then redeploy it to their environment. So I'm going to quickly ask Bob to review the requirements and then build me a quick implementation of the infrastructure that I need to deploy the current requirements. So now as you see, he's walking you through the requirements, right? And he's reading the files, right?

Jason Andersen: Yes.

Kaya Gangesan: And he's saying I want to switch to architectural mode and then you approve this because you're a developer, but you need to be in architectural mode to understand how to architect the actual engine deployment.

Jason Andersen: Bob is actually orchestrating between the different pillars of the toolkit.

Kaya Gangesan: Absolutely correct, yes.

Jason Andersen: Okay, great. So this is now in private preview. Right. So this is new technology. It's not generally available yet, but people can go to IBM and get it and download it and get the play with it.

Kaya Gangesan: That's absolutely correct, yes.

Jason Andersen: And one of the great things about ideas in general is hybrid. So this isn't specific to a specific cloud or you have to develop a specific environment. You could develop this anywhere really. Azure or whatever.

Kaya Gangesan: So plus platform is Bob's highlight as well. So it's not just for my local purpose community test. It could be a hybrid. Right. It could be on a test system that many developers have access to. Right. It could be in production as I mentioned the readme file that would explain the whole architecture of it. What has been created, Terraform scripts.

Jason Andersen: One of the things I was also mentioning to Devo is that this is like a lot of IBM technologies. It started out as an internal project.

Kaya Gangesan: Right.

Jason Andersen: So maybe you can talk about the journey that some of the IBM developers have gone through. All straight for this. People grabbed it and started to use it. How was their reaction and how did they get up to speed?

Kaya Gangesan: So when we initially internally announced Bob everyone's hesitant because I think AI there's so many tools out there, right. Would it be easy to use? How much time do I require to set up Bob? Right, Bob. Bob was so quick to start up so he can get downloads, the XP profile, install it, use your API key and then you're ready to go. Right? So it's a matter of minutes, even seconds. It depends how fast you can download. And so developers love it, right, because there's so many things that happen in the day to day of a developer and they get different requirements. Sometimes requirements change. With Bob you can build something and then you can ask Bob to go modify it based on a requirement change, right. So it's that easy for them to use Bob and make sure that, you know, their productivity goes up.

Jason Andersen: Jason and Kaya with Six Five On the Road here at Tucker Strings.
